Streamlining Nutrition Communication for Inpatient Care Teams

Project Manager

As part of a hospital-wide initiative to improve the patient experience, I led the development of visual signage to clearly indicate patient meal preferences and dietary restrictions. After observing gaps in communication during rounding and receiving feedback from Nutrition Services staff, I designed signage that was simple, legible, and compliant with hospital standards. The goal was to reduce confusion, ensure accurate meal delivery, and improve staff efficiency during meal service rounds.

 

I collaborated with the Nutrition team, Nursing staff, and frontline employees to test signage prototypes, incorporate feedback, and ensure department-wide alignment. The final product improved visibility of key patient information and supported better coordination across roles. This project strengthened my skills in stakeholder engagement, iterative design, and cross-department implementation — and showed me how small changes can meaningfully enhance care delivery.

Building Infrastructure for Operational Clarity

Project Manager

To improve internal communication and department visibility, I supported the development of a centralized Support Services website for hospital staff. The site was designed to house key information about departments like Engineering, Environmental Services, Operators, Security, and more. I worked with department leads to gather accurate content, clarify scope of services, and ensure that each team’s role was clearly represented.

 

This project required cross-functional collaboration, content organization, and iterative feedback to ensure usability. I created page drafts, structured content for clarity and consistency, and worked with stakeholders to align the site with operational goals. The final product increased staff access to critical information and served as a centralized resource to support smoother interdepartmental workflows.

From Confusion to Clarity: Improving the First Step in Care

Project Manager

To improve navigation and reduce confusion for patients and vendors visiting the hospital, I led the design and implementation of updated wayfinding maps. After observing real-time navigation challenges and gathering staff feedback, I developed user-friendly visuals that clearly highlighted key entry points, service departments, and high-traffic zones. These tools were designed to reduce missed appointments and ease the burden on frontline staff frequently asked for directions.

This project involved coordinating with departments like Security, Engineering, and Facilities to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with hospital layout standards. Through multiple rounds of testing and stakeholder review, the final maps supported smoother movement through the hospital and enhanced the overall patient and visitor experience. This work strengthened my skills in stakeholder alignment, process visualization, and user-centered design in operational spaces.
